IBPS Exam Calendar 2015: Two Tier Exam for PO/MT and Clerks from CWE-V

Friends.. as you have already noticed Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) has published its Calendar of Exams for 2015 with tentative dates on 16.01.2015. It was mentioned in the notice that they have decided to hold two-tier examinations for recruitment of PO/MT and Clerks from CWE-V onwards. That means a slight change in the exam pattern is also expected. Further details regarding the change will be out in few days. The notification published by IBPS read as follows:

RRBs CWE-IV Tentative dates: 05.09.2015, 06.09.2015, 12.09.2015, 13.09.2015, 19.09.2015, 20.09.2015, 26.09.2015 & 27.09.2015

PSBs – CWE PO/MT-V and CWE CLERK-V
It has been decided by the competent authority to hold two-tier examinations for recruitment of PO/MT and Clerks from CWE-V onwards. All the candidates who successfully register themselves under CWE PO/MT-V and CWE CLERK-V will be called for Preliminary Examinations. Based on the performance in the preliminary examination, certain number of candidates will be shortlisted for each of these examinations. The short listed candidates will then be called for Main Examinations. There will be fewer number of questions in the Preliminary Examination with shorter duration. The details with regard to both the Preliminary and Main examinations will be made available on IBPS website through the detailed notifications in due course. The marks obtained in the Preliminary examination will not be considered for preparing the final meritlist and the marks obtained in the Main Examination will only be considered for short listing for interview.

Syllabus & Pattern of SBI Associate Bank Clerk Exam 2014-15

Friends.. SBI is going to conduct the exam for recruitment of 6425 Clerks in SBI Associate Banks 2014-15 during the month of January and February 2015. The exam will be of online nature. In this post we are sharing with you, the Syllabus & Pattern of this exam.

The test will be online objective type, consisting of
(i) General Awareness
(ii) General English
(iii)Quantitative Aptitude
(iv)Reasoning Ability
(v)Marketing Aptitude /Computer Knowledge.

The questions in objective tests, except for the test of General English, will be bilingual i.e., English &Hindi. Each test will be of 40 marks. For these objective type tests of total 200 marks candidates will be given a composite time of 2Hours 15minutes.
The detailed syllabus will be similar to the SBI Clerk Exam 2014-2015 which is as follows:

General Awareness: Indian Constitution, Technology and Research News, India and its nearby countries’ news, Knowledge of current events, Sports, history, geography, culture etc.

General English: Deriving conclusions, Passage completion, Error detection, Passage correction, Sentence correction, Vocabulary, Spelling correction, Grammar, Idioms, Phrases, Synonyms, Word formation, Antonyms, Sentence completion, Comprehension and Theme detection.

Quantitative Aptitude: Number system, simplifications, Roots, Averages, Surd & Indices, Percentages, Profit & Loss, Ratio & Proportion, Partnership, Chain rule, Time & work, Pipes & Cisterns, Time & Distance, Problems on trains, Boats & streams, Allegation & mixtures, Simple & Compound interest, clocks & algorithms, mensuration, Volume & surface area, Permutations & combinations, heights & distances, line graphs, Bar graphs, pie charts and Tabulation.

Reasoning Ability: Series completion, syllogisms, Decision making, Statements , Analogy, Coding & Decoding, Blood relations, Sitting arrangements and Classification.

Marketing Aptitude: Economy of India, Marketing and Banking & Finance.


Computer Knowledge: Questions of Computer Software and Hardware, Operating System, Shortcut Keys, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Internet & Networks.

Result of SBI Clerk Exam 2014 Published

Friends.. State Bank of India has today (20 November 2014) published the results of its clerical cadre recruitment Online Exam held during July & August 2014. Result contains the Roll Numbers of Candidates Shortlisted for Interview. As per the write up in results, Interviews will commence from 08-12-2014. Recruitment of 6425 Clerks in SBI Associate Banks 2014-15

Friends.. SBI has invited applications from eligible candidates for appointment in clerical cadre in Associate Banks of State Bank of India. Candidates can apply for vacancies in one Bank and one State only and will have to appear for the test from an examination centre for that particular State. Further details are as follows:

Educational Qulaification: A Degree (Graduation level) froma recognised university, or any equivalent qualification recognised as such by the Central/State Government.

Age Limit (As on 01.12.2014)
Minimum Age : 20 years ; Maximum Age : 28 years (as on 01.12.2014). Candidates born between 01.12.1986 and 01.12.1994 (both days inclusive) are only eligible to apply.

Selection Procedure:
>>  Final selection will be made on the basis of performance in the online test and interview taken together. Merely satisfying the eligibility norm does not entitle a candidate to be called for test or interview.

>> The test will be online objective type, consisting of (i) General Awareness (ii) General English (iii)QuantitativeAptitude (iv)ReasoningAbility (v) MarketingAptitude /Computer Knowledge. The questions in objective tests, except for the test of General English,will be bilingual i.e., English &Hindi. Each test will be of 40 marks. For these objective type tests of total 200 marks candidates will be given a composite time of 2Hours 15minutes
There will be negative marks for wrong answers in the Objective tests. 1/4th mark will be deducted for each wrong answer. Candidates will have to pass in each of the objective tests.

Emoluments:
The total starting emoluments of a Clerical Cadre employee payable at Metro like Mumbai will be around Rs.17500.00 per month inclusive of D.A. and other allowances at the current rate. Allowances may vary depending upon the place of posting.

SBI Associate Bank PO 2014- Exam Pattern & Syllabus

Friends.. Examination for Recruitment of Probationary Officers in Associate Banks of SBI 2014 starts tomorrow (9 November 2014). Here is a quick look at the pattern and syllabus of the exam.

Here are the 05 SBI Associates Banks at present:
1. SBBJ – State Bank of Bikaner & Jaipur
2. SBH - State Bank of Hyderabad
3. SBM - State Bank of Mysore
4. SBP - State Bank of Patiala
5. SBT - State Bank of Travancore

The examination consists of 2 sections namely:
1. Objective type paper-I  -  200 Marks
2. Descriptive type Paper-II - 50 marks

The Objective Test will be online. Immediately after the online Objective Test, Descriptive Test will be administered. Questions relating to Descriptive Test will be available on computer (Online) and candidates will have to write the answers on the answer sheet (Offline) provided to them on Paper/Pen mode.

1. Objective Test: The Objective Test with 2hours duration consists of 4 Sections with 50 marks each (Total 200 marks) as follows:
a) Test of English Language (Grammer, Vocabulary, Comprehension etc.)
b) Test of General Awareness, Marketing & Computers
c) Test of Data Analysis & Interpretation
d) Test of Reasoning (High Level)
The candidates are required to qualify in each of the Tests by securing passing marks, to be decided by the Bank.

2. Descriptive Test: The Descriptive Test with 1 hour duration (50marks) will be of “Test of English Language (comprehension, short précis, letter writing & essay)”.
The candidates are required to qualify in the Descriptive Test by securing passing marks, to be decided by the Bank.

Here are some of the topics for Descriptive Test asked in last year's exam, to serve as an example.
(a) Letter Writing: To a branch to close the saving account, To a friend to attend a seminar on net banking, To a bank for higher education loan etc
(b) Paragraph Writing: If I were an author, Rural Banking, Impact of autonomy provided to bank etc
(c) Essay Writing: Right to education act, Financial Inclusion, How Technology can help banking sector etc
(d) Precise Writing:            Chief Vigilance Officer etc
(e) Reading Comprehension: ATM and its uses etc
Note: Descriptive Test paper of only those candidates will be evaluated who have scored qualifying marks in the Objective Tests and are Placed adequately high as per total marks in objective test.

Minimum: 20 years Maximum: 28 years i.e. a candidate must have been born not earlier than 02.08.1986 and not later than 01.08.1994 (both dates inclusive). Age relaxation is applicable depending upon the category.

Educational Qualifications:
A Degree (Graduation) in any discipline from a University recognised by the Govt. Of India or any equivalent qualification recognized as such by the Central government. The candidate must possess valid Mark-sheet / Degree Certificate that he/ she is a graduate on the day he / she registers and indicate the percentage of marks obtained in Graduation while registering online. Computer Literacy: Operating and working knowledge in computer systems is mandatory i.e. candidates should have Certificate/Diploma/Degree in computer operations/Language/ should have studied Computer / Information Technology as one of the subjects in the High School/College/Institute.

CWE – ONLINE EXAMINATION
The structure of the Examination which will be conducted online is as follows:
* Test will be for duration of 2 hours for 200 marks consisting questions from
Reasoning- 40 Marks
English Language- 40 Marks
Numerical Ability- 40 Marks
General Awareness (with special reference to Banking Industry)- 40 Marks
Computer Knowledge- 40 Marks
There will be penalty for wrong answers marked in the Objective Tests. For each question for which a wrong answer has been given by the candidate one fourth or 0.25 of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted as penalty to arrive at corrected score. If a question is left blank, i.e. no answer is marked by the candidate; there will be no penalty for that question.

HOW TO APPLY
Candidates can apply online only from 12.08.2014 to 01.09.2014and no other mode of application will be accepted.

RBI's monetary policy review 5 August 2014: Highlights

Freinds..Here are the highlights of RBI’s bi-monthly monetary policy statement released on 5 August 2014.
>> Short-term lending (repo) rate unchanged at 8%
>> Cash reserve ratio (CRR) unchanged at 4%
>> SLR cut by 0.50% to 22% to unlock banking funds
>> Estimates GDP growth at 5.5% for current fiscal
>> Targets 8% CPI inflation by January 2015, 6% by Jan 2016
>> Lowers banks’ SLR holdings in held-to-maturity category by 0.5% to 24%
>> Govt policies to improve domestic demand, supply conditions
>> Higher oil prices, pass-through of administered price increases pose upside risks to inflation
>> Monsoons still a concern, posing risks to inflation
>> Govt action on food management and fast-tracking project completion to improve supply
>> Banking sector reforms will continue
>> Next bi-monthly policy statement on September 30.
 Current RBI rates as on 5 August 2014 are as follows:
 1) Bank Rate- 9%
2) Repo Rate- 8%
3) Reverse Repo rate- 7%
4) Cash Reserve Ratio (CRR)- 4%
