SSC CGL Notification 2016 - Apply Online

Staff Selection Commission has notified the Combined Graduate Level Examination 2016 - SSC CGL 2016. Staff Selection Commission will hold the Combined Graduate Level Examination, 2016 (Tier-I) on SUNDAY the 8th & 22nd May, 2016. SSC CGL 2016 is for filling up different categories of posts in various Ministries/ Departments/Organizations.

Important Dates
Opening Date for Online Registration: 13 February 2016
Closing Date for Online Registration: 10 March 2016 (5 PM)
Date of Examination: 8th & 22nd May, 2016

Essential Qualifications (as on 1st August, 2016)
1) Assistant Audit Officer: Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University or Institute.
2)  Desirable Qualifications for the Post of Assistant Audit Officer: Chartered Accountant or cost & Management Accountant or Company Secretary or Masters in Commerce or Masters in Business Studies or Masters in Business Administration (Finance) or Masters in Business Economics.
3) Statistical Investigator Grade – II Bachelor’s Degree in any subject from a recognized University or Institute with at least 60% in Mathematics at 12th standard level or Bachelor’s Degree in any subject with Statistics as one of the subjects at degree level.
4) Compiler : Bachelor’s Degree from any recognized University with Economics or Statistics or Mathematics as compulsory or Elective subject.
5) All other Posts: Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University or equivalent.

Age Limit (as on 1st August, 2016): Age limit is different for each post. Please refer the official notification from below link for more details about age limit.

Scheme of the Examination: The Examination will be conducted in three tiers as indicated below-
Tier -I -- Written Examination (Objective Multiple Choice Type)
Tier -II -- Written Examination (Objective Multiple Choice Type)
Tier -III- Computer Proficiency Test/ Skill Test (wherever applicable)/Document Verification. Interview component has been dispensed with. There will, therefore, be no interview.

Application Fee:
--Rs. 100 (One hundred only)
All Women candidates and candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, Physically Handicapped, and Ex-Servicemen eligible for reservation are exempted from paying application fee, as per extant government orders.
-- The candidates who are not exempted from paying examination fee may submit the requisite fee through State Bank of India only either in the form of challan, generated on line, or through SBI Net Banking. Payment can also be made through any Credit or Debit Card.

How to Apply: The application must be submitted through online mode only.

Desirable qualifications: Knowledge of computer operation, viz., Windows 2000/ 2003, MS Word, etc.

Age limit: 18-27 years  (Upper age limit is relaxable by 5 years for SC/ST and by 3 years for OBC candidates.)

Scheme of Examination
(A) Written Examination
(i) Objective type paper : 80 questions on General Studies / Awareness, Numerical Ability, Reasoning, etc.: 80 Marks
(ii) Descriptive paper
(a) Essay in English/Hindi of not more than 300 words on a topic out of 4 choices: 25 marks
(b) English/Hindi comprehension: 15 marks
(c) Test of English/Hindi language, antonyms, synonyms, one word substitution, etc: 30 marks

(B) Stenography Skill Test
English or Hindi Shorthand @ 100 words per minute
(i) Dictation: 10 minutes @ 100 words per minute
(ii) Skill test on computer - transcription of shorthand, 40 minutes (English) and 55 minutes (Hindi).

Exam Fee: Rs. 50/- (Fifty Rupees only). SC/ST and female candidates are exempted from payment of examination fee.

Mode of Payment: Applicants (who are required to pay the fee) are to pay the fee by cash deposit at any branch of State Bank of India using the Challan form (available in part-II of the online application). The applicant will be required to take a printout of Challan form (wherein name of the applicant, his/her Registration number, etc. will be printed) and deposit the fee in cash in any branch of State Bank of India after a gap of one working day. A counterfoil of this Challan would be given back to the candidate by the bank, indicating the transaction ID, which may be retained by the candidates.

b) For Junior Translator: The written test will consist of (i) 50 Questions on General Awareness, General Intelligence, Reasoning & Numerical Ability and (ii) 50 Questions each on Hindi and English Language.
c) For Stenographer Grade II, Admin Assistant ‘A’ & Store Assistant ‘A’ : The written examination will consist of (i) 50 questions on General Awareness, General Intelligence, Reasoning & Numerical Ability (ii) 50 questions on General English and (iii) 50 Questions on Hindi OR English language.
d) For Vehicle Operator ‘A’& Asstt. Halwai-cum-Cook: The written test will consist of (i) 100 Questions on General Awareness, General Reasoning, Arithmetic, Numerical Ability (ii) 25 Questions on General English (iii) 25 Questions related to Job.

Fees
Non-Refundable Application Fee of Rs. 50/- (Rupees Fifty only) is to be paid by the male candidates of UR and OBC categories. Candidates belonging to the
SC/ST/PWD/ESM/Woman are exempted from payment of Application Fee. Fee is to be paid online for online applications through Credit Card/Debit Card/Net banking. For offline applications, the fee is to be paid through INDIAN POSTAL ORDER (IPO) only issued in favour of “The Director, CEPTAM, Delhi”, payable at Delhi.
