PA/SA Exam 2013- Familiarize with the Steps for appearing in "Typing Test" & "Data Entry Test"


Postal Department has published screen shots of "Typing Test" & "Data Entry Test" to familiarize for those appearing the Phase-II exam. The same is follows:

Steps of Typing Test.
 Step 1: On Desktop Click EH Typing Tutor then this screen appears.


Step 2: Fill Name and Roll Number and then click Enter Button.

Step 3: Select Typing Language Hindi/Eng. and then select Test Text i.e. Batch 1, Batch 2 …. And Click on Next Button.

Step 4: This screen display two window. One containing text matter and another is blank. Click on Start Button to start test.

Step 5: This screen shows that test started. After 15 mins. test stop automatically and Print button is display on screen i.e. in screen 6.

Step 6: Click on print button to print result.


 Steps of Data Entry Test.
Step 1: On Desktop Click DE Test , then this screen appears. Fill Name and Roll Number and then click Log in Button

Step 2: This window will be in two parts, on Top half part, data will be displayed with heading , candidate has to type on the corresponding data field in bottom half part.

Step 3: Once filled the details in each column, click on Next Button to go to next data screen.

Step 4: Once the time is over a result screen will appear, and candidate has to take the printout of this and Sign on it.

    Sir,in typing test we have to type minimum 30WPM to qualify or else less than that will be sufficient with accuracy. Can you tell us how grading of marks is done? Plz clarify..
    At last i appreciate you for helping all those students out there..

      I think it will be mentioned to the candidates on the Test before
      attempting the Test(Given in the admit card that a small briefing on the Test will be given).

    Hi sir...I have a doubt that...is it compulsory to give the typing speed of 30 WPM..can everybody able to achieve that speed?

    And how they will calculate the typing speed in data entry? it is also calculated by WPM r the number of field entered correctly in specific time?

    This is given in notification document which is given along with the application form...They had given that 30 WPM typing speed is necessary....Is it that much easy to give 30 WPM typing speed?

    i have attempted typing test today.. in typing test 15 min given.. we have to type with min 30 wpm (mandatory)..backspace is allowed until u press space bar.. be concentrated.. maintain accuracy..because negative marks are there.. after the test is completed.. u have to take a print of it..
    in D.E. test 15 min time is given..50 forms are given.. u have to type maximum..back space is allowed in this also..we have to type in capital letters..after the completion of the test we have to take print out of this also..those who are going to attempt exam.. practice well.. all the very best friends.. :)

      @ vivek.. as per instructions.. they had given we must maintain 30 wpm.. but with ur speed u maintain accuracy.. u may qualify.. concentrate well and type well..all the very best.. :)

    i have attended the typing test and data entry test,typing test is conducting in typing tutor not in typing master.dont worry its simple and have 15min.data entry test is of 50 mark minimum mark for qualifying is around 15 to 20 mark.dont hesitate keep focusing on typing

      after each test u hve to take print out of your material which you typed .this print out containing typing speed.for data entry test print out containing of mark which you get from dataentry test.for general catagory need 40% mark for qualifying in dataentry test it is arround 20 out of 50.for typing net speed is around 25 to30.as per these i think am qualified.now its all depends upon god dicisn

      please tell me that what does it mean that we have to score 40% in gen category to qualify the typing test. Does that mean we have to type minimum 40% i.e. 180 words of the given passage(450 words)...,????

      for dataentry test need 40% mark and in typing test you just need to achieve min speed of 25-30/min

      that means we have to cmplte the whole passage of 450 words within the given time i.e. 15 mins. There is no qualifying criteria for it.???? Can you plz upload a scanned copy of instructions given on the admit card of typing test....????? Plz plz plz....!!!! It will be of great help...

      apko ye info kis website pe mili?? Qki indiapost ki website pe to kahi aisa defined ni hai k delhi ka typing test 31aug ya 1 sep ko hai. Bas dates de rakhi hn h in dates pe typing test honge.

      As the DE is for 50marks, u should get 20/19/16.5(gen/obc/sc,st) minimum i think. if u have good typing skills u can type atleast 25-30 address fields.All d best.

      U can use backspace,there is no limit. It is same as you type in typing tutor software. u can edit the wrongly typed word before pressing the space bar.After pressing space bar u can't go to the previous word to edit.

    My net typing speed was 33 wpm but I got only 13 marks in data entry test as i entered all the letters in lowercase in alphanumeric fields.I did not use caps lock as I thought the software will take alphabetic letters in its default format i.e in capital letters. Also, in the demo_DETEST given on official website of Post Office it is clearly shown that software is taking alphabetic letters in capital by default. So please tell me whether I can qualify this typing test or not.

    Net pe fb pe blog pe jo chahe wo koi bhi likh sakta hain koi detest mein apna score 40 koi 36 koi 30 koi 25 batata hain lekin bahut kam log hi detest mein 20 se jyada marks laye isliye mujhe lagta hain ki detest mein cut off marks kam kiye ja sakte hain
