1) International Yoga Day celebrated across the globe:
--> The first International Day of Yoga was on 21 June 2015 observed globally.
--> India set two new Guinness World Records — for the most individuals, and individuals from the largest number of nationalities — in performing the exercises at a single venue.
--> Showcase yoga programme at Rajpath saw the largest number of participants around 36 thousand participants performed asanas and 84 nationalities joined the official observation of International Yoga Day at Rajpath in New Delhi.
--> National Yoga Day is celebrated on 3 June 2015.

2) Sanjay Subrahmanyan selected for Sangita Kalanidhi award:
--> Carnatic vocalist Sanjay Subrahmanyan has been selected for this year's Sangita Kalanidhi award.

--> With this honour Sanjay joins the league of select few artistes like Ariyakudi Ramanuja Iyengar who were conferred with the award before they turned 50.

--> Nico Rosberg of Mercedes on 21 June 2015 won the Austrian Grand Prix of F1 ahead of Mercedes teammate Hamilton.
--> It is Rosberg's  third win this season and 11th victory of his career .
--> He was also the winner of  Austrian Grand Prix Formula One (F1) of 2014.
--> Felipe Massa finished third.

4) World's biggest cruise ship “Harmony of the Seas” takes to the water:
--> “Harmony of the Seas” world’s largest cruise ship that made its maiden entry into water in France on 19 June 2015 and is expected to take its maiden voyage in 2016.
--> Harmony of the Seas” is being constructed since 2013.
--> The ship will carry 6,360 passengers along with 2,100 staff.
--> It weighs 227,000 tons and measures 1,187 feet, which is 50 meters longer than the height of the Eiffel Tower.

5) India's first air-conditioned DEMU train launched in Kochi:
--> Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu on 21 June 2015 flagged off India’s first diesel electric multiple unit (DEMU) train service with an air-conditioned coach in Kochi.
--> The Angamaly-Ernakulam-Tripunithura-Piravom train service is expected to help in reducing traffic congestion in the Kerala’s fastest growing city.
--> Other coaches of DEMU train are provided with bench type cushion seats and large windows with glass shutters.
--> The train is equipped with bio-toilets and fully vestibule for free movement of passengers between coaches.

6) NSE to begin overnight investment facility from 22 June 2015:
--> Country's top stock exchange NSE will introduce an overnight liquid transaction facility on its web-based Mutual Fund platform from 22 June 2015.
--> The facility will enable traders, especially small investors, to invest even for a single night in liquid funds.

7) WiFi at Bangkok airport declared world's fastest:
--> Bangkok's Suvarnabhumi Airport has the world's fastest WiFi service.
--> The result emerged after a survey was conducted by internet speed-test watchdog Rotten Wifi in over 130 airports all over the world.
--> Rotten Wifi said Suvarnabhumi's WiFi speed topped all airports at 41.45 mbps, ahead of the airport in Chattanooga, Tennessee, where the speed was measured at 30.99 mbps.

8) World Music Day observed:
--> World Music Day also called Fête de la Musique was observed on 21 June 2013 across the world.
--> This day is celebrated to promote peace and spread goodwill through music.

--> Jharkhand Government has imposed a ban on the sale of thermocol plates in the state.
--> It was announced by Chief Minister Raghuvar Das. By banning thermocol plates, the state government aims at Promoting of leaf plates in the state.

5) Indian American scientist Jayant Baliga wins Russia's top technology award:
--> B Jayant Baliga, a US-based Indian-origin scientist, is being awarded Russia's top technology award in recognition of his work as a major development in energy management which brought about huge increase in efficiency and major savings.
--> The award will presented to Professor Baliga and Shuji Nakamura by Russian President Vladimir Putin.

1) CNR Rao conferred Japan's highest civilian award:
--> Eminent scientist and recipient of Bharat Ratna CNR Rao has been conferred Japan's highest civilian award for promoting academic interchange and mutual understanding in science and technology between the two countries.
--> He was presented with the 'Order of the Rising Sun, Gold and Silver Star' and certificate by Japanese ambassador to India Takeshi Yagi in the presence of senior officials of the Department of Science and Technology.
--> The highest civilian award of Japan is conferred on academicians, politicians and military officers.

2) Dhoni, Mustafizur fined for breaching ICC Code of Conduct:
--> India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Bangladesh fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman were on 18 June 2015 fined 75 and 50 per cent of their match fees respectively after being found guilty of breaching the ICC Code of Conduct during the first One-Day International.
--> The incident happened in the 25th over when the India captain made a physical contact with the debutant while running a single.
--> Following the contact, the left-arm fast bowler left the field and Nasir Hossain bowled the remaining four deliveries to complete the over.
--> The Order of the Rising Sun  is a Japanese order, established in 1875 by Emperor Meiji of Japan.

3) China makes first electric passenger plane:
--> China has produced the world's first electric passenger aircraft to gain an airworthiness certificate.
--> The "BX1E" has a 14.5-metre wingspan and a maximum payload of 230 kg.
--> It can fly at an altitude of 3,000 metres.
--> It can be charged within two hours and can fly for 45 minutes to an hour at a maximum speed of 160 kmph.

4) HDFC Bank launches 10-second paperless instant loan plan:
--> Country's second-largest private sector lender, HDFC Bank on 18 June 2015 launched a 10-second paperless instant loan plan for its existing customers.
--> The quick disbursal of funds will help customers, particularly in medical or other types of emergencies.
--> The entire process of availing the loan is completely paperless, and users can simply log into their bank account via net-banking or mobile banking and avail of this loan at a click.

5) Indian-origin MP Keith Vaz re-elected as chairman of UK Parliament committee:
--> Keith Vaz, Britain's longest-serving Indian-origin MP was today re-elected as chair of Parliament's influential Home Affairs Select Committee.
--> Vaz has been battling controversy in the last few weeks over his alleged role in helping controversial Indian Premier League founder Lalit Modi acquire travel documents through the UK Home Office.

6) India ranked 143 out of 162 countries on 2015 Global Peace Index:
--> India ranked 143 out of 162 countries on the Global Peace Index published on 18 June 2015 by Australia-based global think-tank Institute for Economics and Peace (IEP).
--> Iceland is the most peaceful country in the world, Syria the least peaceful.
--> Pakistan ranked 154 with a ‘very low’ state of peace.The Global Peace index gauged global peace using the level of safety and security in society.

7) Union Government launched NOWCAST and Insurance Web-Portals for Farmers:
--> Union Government has launched NOWCAST weather alert system and Crop Insurance web portal for the benefit of farmers.
--> The new initiatives were launched by Union Agriculture Minister Radha Mohan Singh at a function held in New Delhi.

8) SBI launched net based forex transactions platform 'eforex':
--> State Bank of India on 19 June 2015 launched “SBI eforex”, an internet-based platform that enables customers to book their foreign exchange transactions online.
--> This platform will facilitate the customers of the bank to obtain forex rates without having to physically visit the branch, the bank said in a statement. 

9) Golden State Warriors won the National Basketball Association (NBA) title:
--> Golden State Warriors won the National Basketball Association (NBA) title for 2015 and thus ended its 40-year long title drought on 16 June 2015.

--> Golden State Warriors won its first NBA title in 40 years as it defeated Cleveland Cavaliers by 105-97 in Game 6 of the NBA finals.

1) India's 'Greatest Architect,' Charles Correa died:
--> Charles Correa, arguably India's greatest contemporary architect, passed away on 16 June 2015 in Mumbai.
--> A proponent of 'open-to-skies' spaces, he liked using local techniques and aesthetics in his buildings.
--> Correa played a defining role in developing architecture of post-Independence India and has designed some of the most outstanding structures.
--> He was the man behind the Mahatma Gandhi Memorial in Ahmedabad and the Madhya Pradesh assembly building,Jawahar Kala Kendra in Jaipur, the Permanent Mission of India at the U.N., New York, Kala Academy in Goa.

--> Air India's 72-seater aircraft landed on Kullu-Manali airport at Bhuntar for the first time on 17 June 2015.
--> Earlier, only 48-seater aircraft were operating on the route.
--> Indian Airlines was the first to operate its small aircraft on Delhi-Kullu airway in the late 50s when the airport was built.

4) “Housing for All by 2022" Mission gets cabinet approval:
--> The Union Cabinet chaired by the Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, on 17 June 2015 gave its approval for launch of Housing for All by 2022 aimed for urban areas with following components/options to States/Union Territories and cities:
a) Slum rehabilitation of Slum Dwellers with participation of private developers using land as a resource;
b) Promotion of affordable housing for weaker section through credit linked subsidy;
c) Affordable housing in partnership with Public & Private sectors and
d) Subsidy for beneficiary-led individual house construction or enhancement.

5) Bandhan gets final RBI approval and they will start bank on August 23:
--> Kolkata-based microfinancier, Bandhan Financial Services, received the final approval from the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on 17 June 2015 to start a full-fledged bank.
--> After more than a decade, a new private sector lender will start operations from August 23.

6) Maharashtra government approved new anti-spitting law:
--> Maharashtra government on 16 June 2015 approved an anti-spitting law, in a bid to keep the city streets cleaner.
--> Thus Under the proposed law, a fine of Rs. 1000 and provision for one-day community service at a public office or a government office have been made.
--> Maharashtra becomes the first state in India to get an anti-spitting law.

7) World Day to Combat Desertification and Drought observed:
--> The World Day to Combat Desertification and Drought is a United Nations observance each June 17.
-->  Its purpose is to highlight ways to prevent desertification and recover from drought.
--> The theme for 2015 is "Attainment of food security for all through sustainable food systems."

8) Archana Ramasundarama appointed Director of National Crime Records Bureau:
--> Archana Ramasundaram was on 17 June 2015 appointed as the Director of National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB), New Delhi.
--> Ramasundram is an IPS officer of 1980-batch of Tamil Nadu cadre.

9) Japan's Parliament passed a Bill to lower voting age from 20 to 18:
--> Parliament of Japan (Diet) on 17 June 2015 passed a bill to lower the voting age from 20 to 18.
--> The bill that seeks revision of the public office election law was passed by the House of Councilors (upper house) after being approved in the House of Representatives (lower house).

10) G Gurucharan given additional charge as Director General of Bureau of Indian Standards:
--> Senior IAS officer G Gurucharan was on 17 June 2015 given additional charge as Director General, Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) for three months.
--> He will hold the additional charge till the appointment of a regular incumbent or until further orders.

1) BSNL aims to launch m-wallet with SBI over next 2 months:
--> Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL) plans to introduce mobile wallet (m-wallet) over the next two months with State Bank of India as its banking partner.
--> As per the bank, m-wallet will be different from others as money can be withdrawn for any unutilised fund and allow withdrawal from SBI ATMs.
--> Mobicash Wallet mobile user can pay for various services such as recharge of prepaid cards and mobile/utility bills, book film tickets and shop online beside one can transfer money using the service.

2) Indian Oil Corp's Lotus Xangpo petrol pump world's highest altitude outlet:
--> Indian Oil Corp's (IOC) petrol pump, Lotus Xangpo Memorial filling station, in Leh has become the world's highest altitude retail outlet to be powered by solar power.
--> A solar power generation system has been installed at the petrol pump situated at 11,500 feet above the sea level to replace polluting diesel generator, the company said.

3) Taj Mahal now WiFi enabled:
--> Tourists visiting the Tajmahal can now access Wi-Fi service for free for the first 30 minutes as the facility was formally launched by Communications and IT Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad on 16 June 2015.
--> After free usage limit of 30 minutes, a customer can continue using the service on paid basis for which subscription plans are available in various denominations.
--> The facility has been set up by state-run operator BSNL with the optical fibre backbone which can provide high internet speed of up to 100 Mbps.

4) Sunil Chhetri becomes first Indian to score 50 international goals:
-->  Sunil Chhetri became the first Indian footballer to score 50 international goals during his team’s 2018 World Cup qualifying match against Guam.
--> Chhetri’s feat, though, came in a losing cause, as India suffered their second successive defeat in the preliminary joint qualification second round.
--> Former captain Bhaichung Bhutia stays at the second spot with 42 goals in 107 matches while IM Vijayan has 40 goals from 79 games.

6) Nathu La pass in Sikkim reopened for Kailash-Manasarovar pilgrims after 53 years:
More than a half-century after China closed the Nathu La Pass on the Sikkim-Tibet border, the first batch of 50 Indian pilgrims and tourists will be going to the legendary Kailash-Manasarovar in Tibet on 18 June 2015.
--> This follows a bilateral agreement to open the pass for Indian visitors which was signed on September 18 last year when the Chinese President Xi Jinping visited New Delhi.

1) Snapdeal acquired mobility solutions company Letsgomo Labs:
--> Domestic e-commerce giant Snapdeal has acquired Gurgaon based mobility solutions company Letsgomo Labs.
--> With this acquisition Letsgomo team will become part of Snapdeal.
--> It will help to strengthen Snapdeal position in the m-commerce domain by further strengthen it mobile technology capabilities.

2) Supreme Court cancelled AIPMT 2015:
--> Supreme Court on 15 June 2015 set aside the 2015 All India Pre-Medical Entrance Test (AIPMT) over irregularities in the conduct of the exam.
--> The apex court directed the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), which conducts the exam, to re-conduct the test within four weeks.
--> The order was passed by the vacation bench of Justices RK Agrawal and Amitava Roy which ruled on a batch of petitions seeking re-conduct of the AIPMT following the leak of the question paper and circulation of answer keys through electronic devices at different examination centres across 10 states.

3) Adani Group inks pact to set up 10K MW solar park in Rajasthan:
--> Adani Group has set a target of 10,000 mw of solar power generation capacity by 2022 and has signed a joint venture agreement with the government of Rajasthan to set up a 10,000 mw.
--> The group's arm Adani Renewable Energy Park has signed a pact with the Rajasthan government for a 50:50 joint venture, namely Adani Renewable Energy Park Rajasthan, for the solar power project which will emerge as the largest such integrated facility in India.

4) BSNL started offering free Roaming across India:
--> State-run telecom firm BSNL on 15 June 2015 started offering free roaming across the country, which will allow all its mobile customers to receive calls at no extra cost.
--> Government under National Telecom Policy 2012 has set a goal to achieve free roaming gradually.
--> Among private telecom operators Aircel has started offering free incoming calls to its customers in five south Indian states while on roaming in the region.

5) United Kingdom celebrated 800 years of Magna Carta:
--> United Kingdom (UK) celebrated 800 years of signing of Magna Carta on 15 June 2015.
--> The celebrations to observe signing of 8 century year old historic document which had laid foundation for modern democratic society was led by  Queen Elizabeth II.
--> UK Prime Minister David Cameron was also had joined the queen to mark the celebrations.

6) Denmark’s Mogens Lykketoft elected as President of UN General Assembly:
--> Mogens Lykketoft from Denmark was unanimously elected as President of United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).
--> He was only the nominee put forward by the Western Europe and other group (WEOG).

7) Mahindra Group bagged multi-million dollar aerospace deal with Airbus:
--> In a boost to prime minister Narendra Modi's Make in India initiative, Airbus Group announced to award aero-components production contract to Mahindra Group
--> The contract has been awarded to Mahindra Group subsidiary, Mahindra Aerospace by an Airbus Group company, Premium AEROTEC of Germany.

8) Union Government launched augmented reality application ‘Sakaar’
--> Union Government has launched Augmented Reality technology based mobile application named ‘Sakaar’ to highlight the achievements of the Department of Space.
--> It was launched by Minister of State (MoS) in the Department of Atomic Energy Dr. Jitendra Singh in New Delhi.
--> Sakaar application and its multimedia content for Android devices is developed by Development and Educational Communication Unit (DECU) of ISRO.
