CBSE 12th Results to be declared on 27 May 2013 at 10:00AM

Central Board of Secondary Education(CBSE) will declare the 12th Class results of all regions on 27th May 2013 at 10:00AM, according to the latest update seen their official website(http://cbseresults.nic.in/).
This year CBSE conducted examination from 01 March 2013 to 17 April 2013 in which lacks of students appeared from all parts of nation in all streams including science, commerce and, arts. Many states have already declared their results of class 12th board, students who appeared in CBSE class 12th exams are now waiting for their result to be out.
According to CBSE, 12th Results for all regions will be declared on May 27th. Central Board of Secondary Education has 8 regions viz., Chennai, Delhi, Ajmer, Guwahati, Panchkula, Allahabad, Patna, Bhubaneswar. Students can get their result though roll number or enrollment number and can also take a print out of the provisional mark sheet. They can collect the original mark sheet from their respective school in a month’s time.

Commemorative Postage Stamp on SECURITIES AND EXCHANGE BOARD OF INDIA released by Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh

The Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh released a commemorative postage stamp on Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) at its Silver Jubilee Celebrations in Mumbai on May 24, 2013. The Union Finance Minister Shri P. Chidambaram, the Union Minister for Communications & Information Technology and Law & Justice Shri Kapil Sibal, the Governor of Maharashtra Shri K. Sankaranarayanan, the Chief Minister of Maharashtra Shri Prithviraj Chavan and Col. K. C. Mishra VSM Chief PMG, Maharashtra Circle were also present at the occasion.

About SEBI
The Securities and Exchange Board of India (frequently abbreviated SEBI) is the regulator for the securities market in India. It was established on 12 April 1992 through the SEBI Act 1992 .  It was officially established by The Government of India in the year 1988 and given statutory powers in 1992 with SEBI Act 1992 being passed by the Indian Parliament. SEBI has it’s Headquarter in Mumbai. Controller of Capital Issues was the regulatory authority before SEBI came into existence; it derived authority from the Capital Issues (Control) Act, 1947.

Initially SEBI was a non-statutory body without any statutory power. However in the year of 1995, the SEBI was given additional statutory power by the Government of India through an amendment to the Securities and Exchange Board of India Act 1992. In April, 1998 the SEBI was constituted as the regulator of capital markets in India under a resolution of the Government of India.

The SEBI is managed by its members, which consists of following:
a) The chairman who is nominated by Union Government of India.
b) Two members, i.e. Officers from Union Finance Ministry.
c) One member from The Reserve Bank of India.
d) The remaining 5 members are nominated by Union Government of India, out of them at least 3 shall be whole-time members.

The Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) of India an authority, established by the Constitution of India under Chapter V, who audits all receipts and expenditure of the Government of India and the state governments, including those of bodies and authorities substantially financed by the government. CAG is also the external auditor of government-owned companies. The reports of the CAG are taken into consideration by the Public Accounts Committees, which are special committees in the Parliament of India and the state legislatures. The CAG is also the head of the Indian Audit and Accounts Service, which has over 58,000 employees across the country. In the Constitution of India CAG is mentioned under Article 148 – 151. The CAG is ranked 10th and enjoys the same status as a judge of Supreme Court of India in Indian order of precedence.

Shashi Kant Sharma- New Comptroller & Auditor General of India (CAG)

Defence Secretary Shashi Kant Sharma to be new CAG
The government on 21st May 2013 formally appointed Defence Secretary and veteran bureaucrat Shashi Kant Sharma as the next Comptroller & Auditor General of India. A Bihar cadre IAS officer of the 1976 batch, Sharma has spent the better part of the past decade in the defence ministry, where he held various roles, including as secretary in the department of financial services. He will succeed Vinod Rai, who superannuates on 22 May 2013 after five and a half years of eventful tenure as the head of the Constitutional financial watchdog. According to Finanace Ministry Mr. Shashi Kant Sharma was appointed by President of India in terms of Article 148 (1) of the Constitution of India. Mr. Sharma who holds a masters degree in political science from the University of York, will be administered the oath of office by President Pranab Mukherjee on 23 May 2013(Thursday). The CAG is appointed for a term of six years or till the incumbent attains the age of 65 years, whichever is earlier.
