1) MakeMyTrip acquired travel startup Mygola:
--> Online travel company MakeMyTrip on
21 April 2015 announced that it has acquired certain assets of Mygola.com and
the entire Mygola team has joined MakeMyTrip.
--> The financial terms of the
acquisition were not disclosed.
--> The acquisition was done through
MakeMyTrip’s Innovation Fund, which invests in early-stage or start-up
companies in the travel technology space.
2) Japan's maglev train clocked new world speed record — 603
km/hr:
--> Japan’s Magnetic levitation
technology (Maglev) train has clocked a new world speed record smashing through
the 603 kilometre per hour mark in a test run near Mount Fuji.
--> The new record has surpassed its
previous record of 581 kilometre per hour which was set in 2003.
--> Central Japan Railway Company owns
this fastest passenger train and is planning to have a train in service in 2027
on the 286-km route between Tokyo and the central city of Nagoya.
3) Pakistan conferred Nishan-e-Pakistan award on Chinese
president Xi Jinping:
--> Pakistan on 21 April 2015 conferred
its top civilian award ‘Nishan-e-Pakistan’ on Chinese President Xi Jinping for
his outstanding contribution in promotion of relationship between the two
countries.
--> The ceremony was organised at the
President House where President Mamnoon Hussain conferred the award on Mr. Xi.

1) ICICI bank launched near-field communications-enabled
payment service 'Tap-n-Pay':
--> ICICI Bank in collaboration with
Tech Mahindra launched a payment service 'Tap-n-Pay' based on the near-field
communications (NFC) technology, enabling customers make over-the-counter
payments without using cash.
--> It can be used for merchant payments
by merely tapping a NFC-enabled mobile phone or a tag on the counter.
--> The service is a close-end one, only
for a close group of customers, like canteen payments at the work place, and
not universal like a debit or credit card, the banks said in a statement,
adding the merchant will have to first register for the service and then enroll
customers for using it.
--> Any person having any bank account,
and not limited to ICICI customers, can avail the service, the statement said,
adding a user will have to avail the NFC tag or configure it on the mobile
phone.
2) India's newest stealth destroyer INS Visakhapatnam
launched in Mumbai:
--> INS Visakhapatnam, the first Indian
Navy P15-B stealth destroyer, is launched in Mumbai on 20 April 2015.
--> The indigenously-designed ship's air
defence capability is designed to counter the threat of enemy aircraft and
anti-ship cruise missiles, and will revolve around a vertical launch and
long-range surface-to-air missile system.
--> The vessel is expected to be commissioned
into the India Navy in 2018.
3) Budget Session resumed in Parliament:
--> The parliament resumed second half
of the budget session on 20 April 2015 and the focus remains on the contentious

been notified as the Rajaji Tiger Reserve by the Centre.
