communications satellite, was launched successfully by the European Ariane 5
VA-227 launch Vehicle on November 11, 2015.
--> It was launched from the spaceport
of Kourou in French Guiana.
--> The 3164 kg GSAT-15 carries
communication transponders in Ku-band as well as a GPS Aided GEO Augmented
Navigation (GAGAN) payload operating in L1 and L5 bands.

--> Kerala Finance Minister K M Mani on
10 November 2015 resigned in the wake of the High Court observations against
him in the bar bribery case.
3) UK, Turkey tour of Prime Minister
--> Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be
visiting United Kingdom and Turkey from 12th to 16th November 2015.
4) Diwali
--> Diwali, Festival of lights, was
celebrated across the country with traditional fervour and gaiety.
5) ICC Rankings
--> India stays at second spot in the
latest ODI rankings despite their loss to South Africa in the five-match ODI
series recently.
6) Winter Session of Parliament
--> The winter session of the parliament
will commence on 26th November and conclude on 23rd December.
7) Maldives
--> Maldives on 10 November 2015 lifted
a state of emergency declared by the president earlier this month.
8) Iran appoints first woman ambassador
--> Iran has appointed its first woman
ambassador since the 1979 Islamic revolution, naming foreign ministry
