4. Filippo Grandi - He has taken the charge as new UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) on 6 January 2016. 
5. V.V.S. Laxman - His masterly innings of 281 against Australia was rated as the greatest Test performance of the last 50 years. 
6. Mary Barra - Elected as Chairman of Board of Directors of General Motors. 
7. S H Kapadia - Former Chief Justice of India - He died on 5 January 2016.
8. Kate Atkinson - British writer - She won the novel-of-the-year prize at Britain's Costa Book Awards 2015 for her book "A God in Ruins". 
9. Abid Ali Neemuchwala - Appointed as the Chief Executive Officer of Wipro. 
10. Radha Krishna Mathur  - On 4 January 2016 sworn in as the eighth Chief Information Commissioner of India. 
11. Pranav Dhanawade - He created history on 5 January 2016 when he became the first batsmen in to score more than 1,000 runs in an innings in school cricket. 
12. Justice RM Lodha - Justice RM Lodha Committee on IPL spot fixing on 4 January 2016 submitted its report to the Supreme Court suggesting reforms in the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). 
13. Vilmos Zsigmond - Cinematographer - He is the winner of an Oscar for Steven Spielberg’s Close Encounters of the Third Kind & died on 1 January 2016.
14. Arunima Sinha - India’s star amputee mountaineer - She successfully scaled Mount Aconcagua in which country as part of her Mission 7 Summits. 
15. Natalie Cole - Grammy-winning singer died on 2 Jan 2016. 
16. L M Kahute - Appointed as the DGP of Manipur. 
17. Atul Sobti - Assumed charge as chairman and managing director (CMD) of Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL). 
18. A B Bardhan - Veteran leader of Communist Party of India (CPI) died. 
19. Sanjay Subrahmanyam - foremost south Indian classical vocalists - Awarded Sangita Kalanidhi award 2015.
20. Kamlesh Chandra - Head of one member committee formed to examine the wage structure, service conditions of the Gramin Dak Sevaks (GDS) in the Department of Posts (DoP)
21. Virat Kohli - Selected for 'Cricketer of the Year' award 2015 by BCCI
22. Laxmi Ratan Shukla - Former Bengal cricket captain - Announced his retirement from all forms of cricket. 
23. Adnan Sami - Singer - He got Indian citizenship. 
24. Nagesh Prabhu - Assumed charge as Secretary General of International Sericultural Commission (ISC). 
25. S Javeed Ahmed - New Director General of Police of Uttar Pradesh.
