Angelique Kerber became the first German to win a Grand Slam title since her
childhood idol Steffi Graf in 1999 when she upset world number one Serena
Williams 6-4, 3-6, 6-4 to clinch the Australian Open on 30 January 2016.

Serena had been seeking her seventh Melbourne Park title and 22nd
overall.
* The seventh seeded Kerber, however, was
not overawed by the occasion of her first grand slam final, breaking twice in
the first set as Williams made 23 unforced errors.

List of 20 smart cities announced by Union Government under Smart City Mission
* The Government recently (January 2016)
announced the 20 winners of the Smart City Challenge competition for financing
during the financial year 2016-17. The winners were from 11 States and the
Union Territory of Delhi and the selection was totally objective and
transparent based on standardized processes.
* 3 cities from Madhya Pradesh, two each
from Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, Maharashtra and Rajasthan
and one each from the remaining five made it to the winning list.
* Minister of Urban Development Shri
M.Venkaiah Naidu announced the winners.
Here is the list of 20 smart cities
announced by Shri Venkaiah Naidu based on rank:

Exam Fee:
Rs. 50/- (Fifty Rupees only). SC/ST and female candidates are exempted from
payment of examination fee.
Mode of Payment: Applicants (who are required to pay the
fee) are to pay the fee by cash deposit at any branch of State Bank of India
using the Challan form (available in part-II of the online application). The
applicant will be required to take a printout of Challan form (wherein name of
the applicant, his/her Registration number, etc. will be printed) and deposit
the fee in cash in any branch of State Bank of India after a gap of one working
day. A counterfoil of this Challan would be given back to the candidate by the
bank, indicating the transaction ID, which may be retained by the candidates.
