Gopinath Munde passed away on Tuesday morning after he met with a road accident
in the national capital.
>>
Munde was admitted to the AIIMS trauma centre after he met with a road
accident on way to the Delhi airport.
>> According to doctors, Munde was
sitting on the back side of his Maruti SX4 car when the accident took place. A
speeding Indica jumped a traffic signal and dashed into Munde’s car from the
side at around 6.20 am. When Munde was brought to the hospital, there was no
spontaneous breathing, no pulse, bilateral pupils dilated and no cardiac
activity. A doctor said that CPR was immediately started and continued for
about 50 minutes but he could not be revived. He said that Munde breathed his
last at 7.20 am. Though the doctor did not confirm a cardiac arrest, he said
that the death could have been caused due to a cardiac condition.
>> National flag will be flown at
half mast in Delhi, state capitals and Union Territories today as a mark of
respect to Munde.
>> President Pranab Mukherjee and
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, among others, condoled the sudden death of the
Union Minister.
