>> The Union Public Services
Commission on Thursday released the list of candidates to be appointed to four
civil services.
>> As many as 1,112 candidates have
been recommended for appointment to the Indian Administrative Service, Indian
Foreign Service, Indian Police Service and Groups A and B of the central
services.
>> Gaurav Agrawal has secured the all
India first rank in the three-step appointment process.
>> Munish Sharma and Rachit Raj
secured second and third places on the list published by the UPSC.
>> The results are based on the
scores of the candidates in the written part of the civil services examination
conducted in December 2013 and the personality test interviews held between
April and June this year.
>> The list includes 517 candidates
who appeared from the general stream, 326 OBC candidates, 187 SC candidates and
92 ST candidates.
>> Of the 1,112 candidates, 180 will
be selected for to fill vacancies in the IAS, 32 IFS, 150 IPS, 710 to Group A
of the central services and 156 to Group B of the central services. The
candidature of 40 recommended candidates is provisional and the result of one
candidate had been withheld, said a release from the UPSC.
>> The results can be accessed on the
UPSC website (click on below link), and the marks are likely to be made
available within 15 days, the release added.
