Background of the Event

The 2015 French Open was the 114th edition of the French Open and the second Grand Slam event of the year 2015. Stade Roland Garros in Paris, France hosted the vent from 24 May to 7 June, 2015. In the Men's Singles, Rafael Nadal was the five-time defending champion but as a great surprise to everyone, he lost to Novak Djokovic in the quarterfinals. Finally, Stan Wawrinka won his first French Open title, defeating Djokovic in the final. In Women's Singles, Maria Sharapova was defending champion, but lost to Lucie Safarova in the fourth round. Serena Williams defeated Safarova in the final and won her third French Open title, 20th Grand Slam Singles title, and third Career Grand Slam.

Winner- Stan Wawrinka (4–6, 6–4, 6–3, 6–4)

Note: It was Wawrinka's 2nd Grand Slam singles title, 10th career singles title and his 1st at the French Open.

Women's Singles

Final between: Lucie Safarova (Czech Republic) vs Serena Williams (USA)

Winner: Serena Williams (6–3, 6–7(2–7), 6–2)

Note: It was Williams's 20th Grand Slam singles title, her 3rd singles title of the year and 3rd at the French Open.

Men's Doubles

Final between: Ivan Dodig (Croatia) & Marcelo Melo (Brazil) Vs Bob Bryan(USA) & Mike Bryan(USA)

Winners: Ivan Dodig (Croatia) & Marcelo Melo (Brazil) ( 6–7(5–7), 7–6(7–5), 7–5)

Note: It was Dodig and Marcelo's 1st Grand Slam doubles titles.

Women's Doubles

Fianl between:  Casey Dellacqua(Asutralia) & Yaroslava Shvedova(Kazakhstan) Vs Bethanie Mattek-Sands(USA) & Lucie Safarova (Czech Republic)

Winners: Bethanie Mattek-Sands(USA) & Lucie Safarova (Czech Republic) (7–6(7–3), 6–1)

Note: It was Mattek-Sands andSafarova's 2nd Grand Slam doubles titles. However, this was Mattek-Sands' 2nd French Open title. Eventhough she lost in women's singles final, Safarova could win her 1st French Open title.

Mixed Doubles

Final between: Bethanie Mattek-Sands(USA) & Mike Bryan(USA) Vs Lucie Hradecká (Czech Republic) & Marcin Matkowski (Poland)

Winners:  Bethanie Mattek-Sands(USA) & Mike Bryan(USA) (7–6(7–3), 6–1)

Note: It was Mattek-Sands' 2nd Grand Slam mixed doubles title and her 1st at the French Open. It was Bryan's 4th Grand Slam mixed doubles title and his 4th at the French Open.
