1) Infosys appoints Ranganath D Mavinakere as new CFO:
--> India’s second largest software services firm, Infosys has appointed Ranganath D Mavinakere as new Chief Financial Officer (CFO).
--> He will succeed Rajiv Bansal who was Executive Vice President (EVP) and the CFO of Infosys and had resigned from the company.
--> Prior to this appointment, Mavinakere was EVP and head of strategic operations and CEO’s office of Infosys.

2) Govt to rename missile complex after Kalam:
--> The government has decided to rename the prestigious missile complex in Hyderabad 'Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Missile Complex' in honour of the late President.
--> Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar will attend the renaming ceremony at the Research Centre Imarat on 15 Oct. 2015, the 84th birth anniversary of the former President, also known as the 'Missile Man'.
--> Kalam had joined the missile complex in 1982 and was a part of it for nearly two decades.

--> PS Jayakumar on 13 October 2015 took over the charge of Managing Director (MD) and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of state-owned Bank of Baroda.

4) Cristiano Ronaldo gets record fourth Golden Boot:
--> Cristiano Ronaldo has received a record fourth Golden Boot after topping Europe's goal scoring charts for the 2014-15 season.
--> The Real Madrid star scored 48 goals in 35 La Liga appearances last term and becomes the first player in the awards' illustrious 47-year history to win the accolade four times.

5) India beat SA by 22 runs and level series 1-1 in Indore ODI:
--> South Africa were all out for 225 runs after Team India set a 248 runs target in the second cricket one-dayer in Indore on Wednesday.
--> India suffered a close five-run defeat in the first ODI at Kanpur.

6) Jamaican writer Marlon James won the 2015 Man Booker Prize for Fiction:
--> Jamaican writer Marlon James on 13 October 2015 won the 2015 Man Booker Prize for Fiction for his novel A Brief History of Seven Killings.
--> With this, James became the first Jamaican author to win the prize in its 47-years of history.
--> James’s name was shortlisted from a list of writers including Sunjeev Sahota, Chigozie Obioma, Hanya Yanagihara, Anne Tyler, Tom McCarthy and Marlon James.

7) Arun Jaitley chosen 'Finance Minister of the Year, Asia' by Emerging Markets:
--> Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley was chosen as 'Finance Minister of the Year, Asia' by London-based publication Emerging Markets in October 2015.
--> Apart from this, Atiur Rahman, the Governor of Bangladesh Bank was named as the Central Bank Governor of the Year, Asia 2015.

8) Delhi government launched Bill Banvao, Inaam Pao scheme:
--> Delhi Government on 13 October 2015 launched Bill Banvao, Inaam Pao scheme to encourage people to receive or demand proper bills for purchases.
--> Citizens will be eligible for the scheme only on a bill or cash memo/retail invoice of not less than 100 rupees for purchases made from a registered dealer in Delhi.
