1) India pledges 33-35% cut in carbon emission intensity by
2030:
--> India makes game changing climate
commitments ahead of the Paris conference says will reduce the emissions
intensity of its GDP by 33-35% by 2030 from 2005 level and boost the renewable
energy capacity to 40 per cent by that time as welI.
--> India announced its climate
contributions on Gandhi Jayanti.
--> A symbolic tribute to a leader who
believed in the maintenance of ecological balance and use of renewable resources.
2) PM Modi inaugurated county's first solar powered district
court:
--> PM Narendra Modi inaugurated
county's first solar powered district court in Khunti, Jharkhand on 2 October
2015.
--> Making an appeal to stop wastage of
electricity, the Prime Minister said that like solar energy, we also need to
focus on energy conservation.
3) Govt notified 'Mid Day Meal Rules, 2015':
--> Central Government notified 'Mid Day
Meal Rules, 2015' in the Gazette of India.
--> The Ministry of HRD had finalized
the MDM Rules after consultation with the States and other related Central
Ministries.
4) ADB to provide loan for India-Bangladesh Electricity link
upgradation:
--> Asian Development Bank (ADB) has
decided to provide 120 million dollars loan to upgrade the India-Bangladesh
electricity network.
--> This loan fund will allow Bangladesh
to meet its increasing power demand from India and support power exchanges
across South Asia region.
5) Inzamam-ul-Haq
appointed Afghanistan coach:
--> Former Pakistan captain
Inzamam-ul-Haq was on 2 Oct. 2015 appointed temporary Afghanistan cricket coach
for their upcoming Zimbabwe tour, saying he was thrilled to be taking on a team
whose rise has been the game's Cinderella story.
--> Inzamam accepted a 25-day role to
coach Afghanistan on their tour of Zimbabwe, where they play five one-day
internationals and two Twenty20s starting from October 16.
6) South Africa defeated India by 7 Wicket in first T20:
--> JP Duminy and AB de Villiers played
a blinder of an innings and helped South Africa chase down the massive 200-run
target with seven wickets in hand in the first T20I against India at the HPCA
stadium.
--> Duminy and Farhaan Behardien
stitched an unbeaten 105 stand to take South Africa home in 19.4 overs.
--> Earlier, Rohit Sharma's 62-ball
century set South Africa a formidable target of 200 and gave India the kind of
performance they needed to come up with after being put to bat.
