Review of IBPS PO Prelims - 3 October 2015 (Slot 1 - 9 AM)

Hi friends.. Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) has today (3.10.2015) started its  IBPS PO 2015 Prelims Exam. This is the first time IBPS is conducting the prelims exam for PO selection. Today exam will be held in four slots ie, 9 AM, 11:30 AM, 2 PM and 4:30 PM. The pattern of the IBPS PO Prelims was same as SBI PO 2015 Prelims Exam held few months back. First slot exam at 9AM is now over. As per the reviews from our friends exam was of Moderate level. Here is the detailed analysis of the first Slot exam along with expected cutoff. 

First let's have a look at the Pattern of IBPS PO Prelim Exam.

1) English Language - 30 Questions - 30 Marks

2) Quantitative Aptitude - 35 Questions - 35 Marks

3) Reasoning Ability - 35 Questions - 35 Marks

Total - 100 Questions- 100 Marsk - 1 Hour

1) Close Test (Primary Education comparison with the American System) - 5 Questions - Moderate

2) Reading Comprehension – 10 Questions (Based on Economics – Lengthy) - Moderate

3) Fillers - 5 Questions -Moderate

4) Spotting Error – 5 Questions - Moderate to Difficult

5) Para-Jumbled (tricky type paragraph) - 5 Questions -Moderate

6)  Fill in the blanks – 5 Questions - Easy

Quantitative Aptitude(Level: Moderate to Difficult)

1) Simplification - 5 Questions - Easy

2) Number Series – 5 Questions - Moderate

3) Quadratic Equation  - 5 Questions - Easy

4) Data Interpretation - 10 Questions - Moderate

5) Approximation – 5 Questions - Moderate

6) Data Interpretation (2 Sets) – 10 Questions – Easy to Moderate

7) Miscellaneous(SI,CI, Speed &Time, Profit and Loss, Time and Work, Averages, Ages, Ratio etc.) - 10 Questions – Easy to Moderate

Reasoning Ability(Level: Easy to Moderate)

1) Inequalities – 5 Questions  -Easy

2) Coding Decoding – 5 Questions - Easy

3) Puzzles(Complex Arrangement based on Colour and Months/ North South Arrangement) -- 10 Questions - Moderate to Difficult

4) Sitting Arrangement (Circular)– 5 Questions - Moderate

5) Linear Arrangement (North South) – 5 Questions -Easy to Moderate

6) Miscellaneous Questions (Blood Relations, Ranking, Direction test etc) -  5 Questions - Moderate

7) Syllogism – 5 Questions - Moderate

Some Questions I remember – Shared by Neethu Vijayan

1. 24 men do a work in 16 days . 20 women do a work in 18 days . what is the ratio of one day work done by 32 men and 36 women ?

2. Ram goes A to B @ 4kmph and reach 20 minutes late , and @ 6 kmph reach 30 minutes Late . Find distance between A and B ?
3. Simplification was Moderate and not too much complicated just involving +,-,*,/ and sqrt. You could solve this in 5 mins or even less if you are good at speed maths. 

The overall expected cutoff of IBPS PO Prelims Exam will be around 35 – 41 for general category.
